MOLLY CAUFIELD
MY BACKGROUND
Hello, my name is Molly Caufield and I am a senior at Miller Place High School. Throughout high school, I have worked very hard to maintain a GPA of 4.0 while taking on a rigorous course load of AP, Honors, and College courses. This year I decided to enroll in Virtual Enterprise as my business course to learn more about the innerworkings of a business and get good experience before college. I will be continuing my education at Temple University in their Honors College, studying Media Studies & Production.
I have a variety of interest and hobbies that I enjoy dedicating time to. At school, I participate in extracurricular activities including: Drama Club, Secretary of FBLA, Secretary in Student Government, Tri-M Music Honor Society, National Honor Society, President of the Foreign Language Honor Society, Journalism Club. You will notice that in many of these I hold a leadership position. This is because I love to get more involved in the things I enjoy.
My work experience entails both retail and customer service within a restaurant. During my Junior year, I worked at Marshalls as an Associate during the holiday months, which is their peak season. While I was there I occasionally worked the register, ensuring that the companies profits matches sales by responsibly handling money and credit. I also helped promote the company credit card to each customer I assisted. My main job however, was a Shoe Associate. I was responsible for maintaining a impressive and clean shoe department, and promoting sales when they occurred.
Aside from school, work and extracurriculars I enjoy many other things like reading, being with friends, music and theatre, and traveling. I use my hard-working and observant personality to bring new insight to not just my personal life but my role as Chief of Human Resources at Fits4Fans.
MY EXPERIENCE
In the VE World, my job as CHR entails many responsibilities dealing with leadership, conflict resolution and working efficiently. I assist the CEO and COO in guiding other departments and their chiefs. In order for our business to successfully operate, a safe and comfortable workplace must be maintained. During the onboarding process, I gave a Welcome Presentation to introduce all employees to their news jobs and expectations. Following that I created an employee handbook outlining everything employees must know and agree to. This includes 6 sections: Welcome & Company Overview, Company Policies, Standards of Conduct Policies, Employee Performance and Benefits, Digital Policies, and the Appendix. Within this document is the Agreement Form, which all employees must sign so they can be reprimanded if they betray the policies outline in the Employee Handbook. Also in the appendix, there is a Complaint Filing form, Confidentiality Agreement forms, and samples for a letter of resignation and letter of reprimand. All of the policies I formed are what keep our workplace at Fits4Fans fair and safe and our employees comfortable.
I also participate in all national competitions for our company. When we presented our business plan in January, I was there to present a few slides and answer any questions that the judges had. I also participated in the National Human Resources Competition where I submitted our Employee Handbook and a presentation to go along with it, detailing our HR department and company information.
My experience as CHR of Fits4Fans will prove to be great experience for my future. I plan on pursuing Media Production & Studies, which is a section of Communications. Communications is a great tool to have for pursuing HR, so I believe my experience at Fits4Fans and future education will go hand in hand. Additionally, working at Fits4Fans has given me great experience with programs such as GoogleSheets, GoogleDocs, Canva, GoogleSlides, Wix.com, and Powerpoint.
All of this experience and the traits I have developed have helped me to become a successful student and prospective college student. I believe my experience in VE will allow me to take a different level of professionalism and confidence into my educaiton and career.
